His works includes a wide range of both Local and Federal Government, Commercial and University projects, many of which have archived LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) Certification. His Sustainable Architecture work including the first Green Globe certified family shelter building in Fairfax County Virginia.

Originally from Boston Massachusetts he attended Hampton University School of Architecture where he pursued a Bachelor’s in Architecture. Reuben Hameed worked part time several years while in college at RGASSA, a small architecture firm, in Richmond Virginia that did adaptive reuse projects in the historic Shocoe Bottom area of Richmond. Upon leaving Hampton University Reuben worked at Blanchard Group, a Richmond Virginia based Architectural Master Planning firm, that aided K-12 educational institutions, around the country, plan out their campus’s future growth and Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, a full-service Architecture and Engineering Firm with multiple offices locate across the United States.

...in many diverse neighborhoods including Capitol Hill and Southwest Waterfront but now lives in the Woodridge area of NE Washington DC. He has been an active participant in the community for many years. He seat on the Board of Directors of several 501c3 non-profit organizations over the years including Penn East Inc. that was dedicated to creating a vital commercial corridor in southeast Capitol Hill, the Friends of Rhode Island Ave (FoRIA) a non-profit group dedicated to promoting, developing, and enhancing Rhode Island Avenue NE as a culturally, socially, and economically vibrant community and The Rhode Island Ave NE Main Street is one of the 16 accredited Main Street organizations in Washington D.C. He was also an active member of the Capital Hill Restoration Society in which he seat on the Monitoring Committee which gives recommendation to the DC Office of Historic Preservation on building permit applications with-in the Capital Hill Historic District. He has also served as an Advisory Committee member to the Pennsylvania Avenue SE Corridor Land Development Plan approved by the DC City Council. In addition to that Reuben worked closely with Washington DC Neighborhood groups seeking Historic District designation by helping them with community outreach and education. Reuben was also appointed by the DC City Council to the DC Public School Modernization Advisory Committee, which helped over sees the implementation of the DCPS Facilities Master Plan and the DC Public School Modernization effort.

...being a member of the Washington DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and it’s Committee on the Environment, in which he has served as the Committees Chair in 2008, Vice Chair in 2007 and Treasurer in 2006. Reuben has also been an active member of the Washington DC chapter of The National Organization of Minority Architects since moving to the District and has served four years as the Chapters Vice President and served as one of the chapter’s advisory board members.
